SPE Capital is a leading Private Equity firm with a regional focus on North Africa (and increasingly Sub-Saharan Africa). It previously was the private equity arm of Swicorp, a leading financial services company, active in the MENA region since 1987. SPE Capital has offices in Paris, Tunis, Casablanca, Cairo, and Abidjan.

We are looking for a highly motivated, driven, and autonomous intern/apprentice for our global Private Equity team. The position would be based either in Paris, Tunis, or Casablanca.

This internship/apprenticeship experience will provide an excellent platform from which to launch a career in private equity, and the opportunity to gain specific region exposure. It will offer a broad experience and the ability to assess investment opportunities across several industries, in addition to witnessing first-hand the management of SPE Capital’s current investment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team in (i) the assessment of investment opportunities and (ii) portfolio companies monitoring

  • Conduct market research, business due diligence and analysis

  • Prepare financial models, including business plans, valuation models (DCF, multiples, LBO, etc.) and returns models, to support transaction execution

  • Assist with the preparation of various notes and reports such as qualification notes, investment memorandum, portfolio review notes and marketing documents

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • Student at a Tier 1 / leading business or engineering school (MBA students are also welcome to apply)

  • Sound business judgment and high commercial understanding

  • Strong finance knowledge, analytical capabilities, capacity for synthesis, modeling, and presentation skills (Excel & PowerPoint)

  • Self-starter mentality, high degree of autonomy and entrepreneurial mind

  • Interest for and willingness to work in the region

  • Experience within the investment banking / private equity / management consulting field is preferred

  • Fluency in English and French required, knowledge of Arabic is preferred

Location: Paris, Tunis, or Casablanca

Start Date: February/March 2022.

Assignment duration: 6 months internship (duration TBD for apprenticeship contracts).
