At SPE Capital, we are seeking a highly motivated, resourceful, and autonomous intern to be part of our ESG, Business Integrity & Impact team. The position would be based in Tunis.

This internship experience will provide an excellent platform from which to deepen understanding and strengthen skills in assessing the environmental, social, governance and business integrity aspects of investment opportunities across several industries, in addition to participating first-hand in the management of SPE Capital’s current investment portfolio and the opportunity to gain specific regional exposure and investment experience within a successful and dynamic private equity firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ESG-BI-Impact team in : (i) the assessment of environmental, social, governance and business integrity risks and opportunities of potential investments, and (ii) the monitoring of ESG, BI and Impact performance of portfolio companies
  • Conduct market research and analysis and assist with ESG, BI and Impact due diligence process
  • Prepare action plans to support transaction execution
  • Assist with the preparation of various notes and reports such as screening notes, investment memorandum, portfolio review notes and marketing documents
  • Support continuous improvement and project work through simplification of reports, analytic tools and harmonization of reporting.
  • Support collaboration and sharing of best ESG, BI and sustainability practices.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • Smart, creative and entrepreneurial candidate with a demonstrable interest and knowledge in the field of sustainability, corporate governance, business integrity and the investment space.
  • Undergraduate or graduate-level coursework in business, engineering, sustainability, management, communications, marketing, leadership, compliance, human resources, and/or related area
  • Excellent research, analytical and project management skills
  • Proficient at using various analytical and visualization tools
  • Highly effective communication skills and ability to deliver clear and professional presentations
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a collaborative environment
  • Interest in movement and trends in sustainability
  • Interest and willingness to work in the region
  • Fluency in English required, knowledge of French and Arabic is preferred
  • Prior knowledge and experience with ESG, BI and Impact standards a plus
  • Experience within the investment banking / private equity / management consulting field a plus
  • Social media knowledge and experience with progressive and relevant content a plus
